Rotary Harmonic Motion
High speed rotary reciprocation is best accomplished with harmonic rotary motion. This system provides sinusoidal acceleration and deceleration. Angles at ends of rotary actuator stroke must be 90 degrees.

Two distinct advantages over cylinders
 Cylinder rods are subject to side forces and bending. Turn-act rotary actuators are designed for side loads.
Cylinder rods corrode and collect contaminates. When retracting the rod wears the bushing and seal leading to cylinder failure. Rotary actuators eliminate this potential problem.
